CONSTANTELOS, STELLA (NEE CROUSSOULOUDIS) - passed on peacefully, from time to eternity in the presence of God on March 25, 2010. She was the beloved wife of the Rev. Dr. Demetrios Constantelos for 56 years. Stella was dear mother of Christine Constantelos (Robert Simms), John Constantelos (Polly Diven), Eleni Constantelos, and Maria Loukeris (Peter Loukeris), grandmother of Damon, Alex, Julia, Peter, Michael and Demetri, the beloved sister of Mary Giannaris and Despina Croussouloudis, beloved sister-in-law of Toula, Efstathia, Stavros, Eleni, Anthoula, and Taki. She will also be sadly missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Stella was born in New York City in 1928, raised on the island of Chios, Greece, and returned to New York City in 1946. Since 1955, she served as the Presvytera at the communities at which her husband pastored. Stella was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, and the St. Elpis Philoptochos Society of Holy Trinity (the official philanthropic organization of the Greek Orthodox Church in America). She was a truly compassionate and selfless person, who offered her support and services freely to people and institutions in need. For more than twenty years she was a volunteer at Shore Memorial Hospital, where she is still fondly remembered by the nurses and staff with whom she worked. She also volunteered for many years at the Caring Adult Medical Daycare Center. She had traveled extensively with her husband throughout Europe, enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking and gardening, but first and foremost, her time and energy was devoted to the care of her family. For nearly seven years, she fought against multiple myeloma, which caused her demise. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who were privileged to know her. Friends and relatives are invited to the viewing which will be held on Friday evening 7:00-9:00pm at the Jefferies & Keates Funeral Home, 228 Infield Ave., Northfield, NJ, and also on Saturday morning 10:00-11:00am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 7004 Ridge Ave., Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church on Saturday at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Laurel Memorial Park, Tilton Rd., Egg Harbor Township, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to the St. Elpis Philoctochos Society of Holy Trinity Church (P.O. Box 769, Northfield, NJ 08225) or the International Multiple Myeloma Foundation (12650 Riverside Dr., suite206, North Hollywood, CA 91607).
